What We Like
- Machine washable, which is a must once you've dealt with a bottle explosion
- Well-organized pockets including insulated bottle compartment
- Stroller straps that actually stay put on the handlebar
- Changing pad included so you don't need to buy one separately
- Fun patterns and colors that go beyond boring gray diaper bags
What Could Be Better
- Not the largest bag, might feel tight if you're packing for two kids
- The included changing pad is pretty thin and basic
- Some of the trendier patterns sell out fast
Safety Notes
Keep small bag accessories (clips, zipper pulls) away from children. Never hang a heavy bag from a stroller without a child in the seat, as it can cause the stroller to tip backward.
Buying Guide Notes
If you want a bigger JuJuBe bag, the Be Prepared is their largest style. The Petunia Pickle Bottom Boxy is the competition if you want a more structured backpack. For a budget option, the Ruvalino diaper backpack does the job for about $40 but isn't machine washable. Whatever you buy, get a backpack style. Your shoulders will thank you.
Full Review
After trying four different diaper bags (a tote that killed my shoulder, a messenger bag that swung into everything, and two cheap backpacks that fell apart), we landed on the JuJuBe BRB and stopped looking. It's machine washable, which sounds like a small thing until your kid's bottle leaks applesauce all over the inside pocket and you realize every other diaper bag requires hand-scrubbing with a damp cloth. Just toss this in the washer. Done. The organization is really well thought out. There's a spot for bottles that's insulated, a mommy pocket on the back for your phone and wallet, and enough internal pockets that you can actually find things without dumping the whole bag out. The changing pad that comes with it is basic but functional. The stroller straps let you hang it from the handlebar without it sliding off. The zippers are smooth, the fabric is durable, and the patterns are way better than the generic gray-on-gray that most diaper bags offer. It's not as roomy as some larger bags, so if you're packing for two kids, you might need something bigger. But for one baby, it's just right.
