What We Like

  • Zip-down mesh panel lets you adjust for hot or cold weather instantly
  • Six carry positions that are all actually comfortable, not just marketing
  • Wide padded waistband puts weight on hips instead of shoulders
  • No infant insert needed from 7 lbs, saves you money from the start
  • Lumbar support makes long wearing sessions manageable

What Could Be Better

  • Buckles are stiff for the first week or two before they break in
  • Bulkier than competitors when folded down for storage
  • The learning curve for back carry position is steep without a helper

Safety Notes

Ensure baby is in an ergonomic M-position with knees higher than hips. Always keep baby's airway clear and face visible. Check all buckles before each use. Front-outward carry is only safe after baby has full head and neck control, typically around 5 months.

Buying Guide Notes

If you live somewhere hot, the all-seasons panel makes this a better choice than the Ergobaby Omni 360. If you want something lighter and simpler, consider a ring sling for quick carries. The LILLEbaby Airflow model is all-mesh if you need maximum breathability. This carrier goes on sale frequently during Amazon Prime Day and Black Friday.

Full Review

The LILLEbaby Complete is the carrier we reach for when the weather is unpredictable. It has this zippered panel on the front that you can unzip to reveal a mesh layer for airflow, or zip up for warmth. Sounds simple, but it makes a real difference on those spring days that start at 50 degrees and end at 75. Six carry positions sounds like marketing fluff, but they're all genuinely usable: front inward, front outward, hip, back, and two variations with the seat narrowed for newborns. The lumbar support is excellent. We did a full day at a theme park with our 10-month-old and my back survived. The wide padded waistband distributes weight to your hips instead of your shoulders, which is how it should be. It fits babies from 7 to 49 lbs without needing an infant insert, so you're set from the hospital through the toddler years. The buckles are a little stiff at first but break in after a week. The sleeping hood is nice for supporting a baby's head during naps. It's a little bulkier than the Ergobaby when not in use, but the temperature control panel is worth that tradeoff if you live somewhere with variable weather.
