What We Like

  • All four carry positions work well, not just the front-facing one
  • No infant insert needed, which saves money and hassle from day one
  • Lumbar support is excellent for longer wearing sessions and hikes
  • Fits a huge weight range from 7 to 45 lbs so it lasts through toddlerhood
  • Crossable shoulder straps help distribute weight for petite parents

What Could Be Better

  • Bulkier than wraps or ring slings, not the easiest to toss in a diaper bag
  • Takes about a week of practice to get comfortable putting it on solo
  • Can run warm in hot weather because of all the padding

Safety Notes

Ergonomic M-position seat keeps baby's hips in a healthy position (acknowledged by the International Hip Dysplasia Institute). Always ensure baby's face is visible and kissable. Check all buckles before each use. Front-facing carry is only recommended after baby has full head and neck control.

Buying Guide Notes

If you want something lighter for summer, the Ergobaby Omni Breeze has a mesh design. The BabyBjorn One is a good alternative if you prefer magnetic buckles. For newborn-only use, a stretchy wrap like Solly Baby or Boba is lighter and cozier. But for a do-everything carrier you'll use for 2+ years, the Omni 360 is tough to beat.

Full Review

The Ergobaby Omni 360 is the carrier we recommend to basically everyone who asks. It does all four carry positions (front inward, front outward, hip, and back carry) and fits babies from 7 lbs to 45 lbs without needing a separate infant insert. That last part is huge because infant inserts are annoying, hot, and add another thing to carry around. The lumbar support on this carrier is legit. We've done 2-hour hikes with a 20 lb toddler and my back felt fine. The crossable shoulder straps help distribute weight evenly. It's not the lightest carrier out there, but the padding that makes it comfortable also adds some bulk. The learning curve on getting it on by yourself is about a week, and then it becomes second nature.
