What We Like
- Thick dense foam that actually absorbs impact, not flimsy thin padding
- Pre-applied 3M adhesive holds well on wood, glass, and stone
- Comes in multiple colors to match your furniture
- 12-pack covers the most dangerous corners in your main living area
What Could Be Better
- Not exactly a style upgrade for your furniture
- Adhesive can leave slight residue when removed, though Goo Gone handles it
- Determined toddlers will eventually learn to peel them off
Safety Notes
Clean surfaces with rubbing alcohol before applying for the best adhesion. Press firmly for 30 seconds. Check adhesion weekly, especially in the first month. These reduce impact but don't eliminate it completely. Watch for choking hazard if a child manages to tear off small pieces of foam.
Buying Guide Notes
Focus on the furniture your baby spends the most time around first: coffee table, TV stand, fireplace hearth. You can always order a second pack for other rooms. Roving Cove also makes edge strips for long straight edges like fireplace hearths and countertops. If you have a glass coffee table, consider replacing it entirely during the toddler years. Seriously.
Full Review
There's a period when your baby is pulling up and cruising around furniture where they fall and smack their head on something sharp about five times a day. It's horrible to watch. Our coffee table was the worst offender, with these perfectly sharp right-angle corners at exactly baby forehead height. The Roving Cove corner protectors are thick, dense foam that wraps around corners and edges, turning potential ER visits into minor bumps. They stick on with pre-applied 3M adhesive, which actually holds well on wood, glass, and stone surfaces. We put them on our coffee table, TV stand, fireplace hearth, and dining table. They stayed put for over a year through daily abuse from our toddler. They come in multiple colors (we used brown for our dark wood furniture), so they don't look as ridiculous as bright white foam on everything. Are they attractive? No. But neither is rushing to urgent care because your 10-month-old face-planted into a granite countertop edge. You can peel them off when your kid is old enough to move around furniture without constant crashes, usually around age 3. The adhesive leaves minimal residue that comes off with a little Goo Gone.
