What We Like
- Bassinet insert means you don't need a separate bassinet for the first few months
- Detachable changing table goes wherever you need it in the house
- 30-second setup once you know the trick, genuinely fast
- Wheels on two sides let you roll it between rooms easily
- Extremely affordable for how much use you'll get out of it
What Could Be Better
- The included mattress pad is very thin, not ideal for extended overnight sleep
- Folding it back up takes practice and some patience the first few times
- It's heavy and bulky when folded, not great for frequent travel
Safety Notes
Only use the mattress pad provided by Graco. Don't add extra padding or blankets. The bassinet is for babies up to 15 lbs or until they can push up on hands and knees. The changing table is for babies up to 25 lbs. Always use the restraint strap during changes. Lock the playard rails fully before placing baby inside.
Buying Guide Notes
This is the best value Pack 'n Play with a changing station. If you want a travel-focused option, the Graco Pack 'n Play Anywhere Dreamer is more portable. If you want a nicer looking option for the nursery, the 4moms Breeze Plus has a much easier fold mechanism but costs twice as much. You can also skip the changing station version and get the basic Pack 'n Play for $20 less. But the changing pad is worth the extra cost.
Full Review
Every parent ends up with a Pack 'n Play. It's basically a rite of passage. And Graco has been making them for so long that they've gotten really good at it. This version comes with a bassinet insert for newborns (saves you from buying a separate bassinet), a detachable changing pad that lifts off and goes wherever you need it, and the main playard that works as a safe play area and travel crib for toddlers. The setup is the classic "pop it open, push down the center, done" that takes about 30 seconds. Folding it back up has a learning curve the first time, but you'll figure it out. The wheels on two ends let you roll it between rooms without lifting it. The mesh sides provide airflow and let you see your baby from any angle. The included mattress pad is thin (they all are), so it works for naps and travel but we wouldn't use it as a primary sleep surface long-term. The changing table insert is surprisingly useful. It clips onto the top rail and gives you a changing station in the living room or wherever you set up camp for the day. The whole thing folds into a carry bag that, while bulky, fits in a car trunk. It's not glamorous. It's not Instagram-worthy. But it works, it's affordable, and every family should have one.
