What We Like

  • 360-degree swivel lets you grab things without standing up holding a sleeping baby
  • Smooth, quiet glide motion won't disturb a baby who just drifted off
  • Lumbar pillow included and actually supportive, not just decorative fluff
  • Performance fabric resists stains and cleans up easily after spit-up
  • Looks like a regular armchair, so it works in your living room after the nursery stage

What Could Be Better

  • It's a significant investment for nursery furniture at this price point
  • The chair is heavy and hard to move once it's in place
  • Limited reclining compared to dedicated recliners

Safety Notes

Ensure the base is fully assembled and locked before use. Keep the area around the glider clear so it can swivel freely. Be aware of pinch points between the base and the glider when children are crawling nearby. Place on a flat, stable surface.

Buying Guide Notes

If you want a recliner that also glides, the La-Z-Boy Rowan is the premium pick but costs twice as much. The Pottery Barn Wingback Glider is aesthetically similar at a higher price. For a budget option, the Angel Line Windsor Glider and Ottoman set is around $200 but doesn't swivel and the cushions wear out faster. Invest in the chair. You'll thank yourself at 3am.

Full Review

You're going to spend an absurd number of hours in your nursery chair. Between nighttime feeds, contact naps, bedtime stories, and the rocking-until-they're-finally-asleep sessions, this chair becomes your second bed. The DaVinci Olive is comfortable for all of it. The swivel is 360 degrees, which matters more than you'd think. You can swivel to grab a burp cloth from the changing table without standing up while holding a sleeping baby (every parent knows the terror of trying to stand up with a baby who just fell asleep). The glide motion is smooth and quiet. No creaking, no catching, just a gentle back-and-forth. The lumbar pillow that comes with it is actually useful, not just decorative. The seat is wide enough that you can tuck your legs up if you want, or sit with a nursing pillow across your lap. The performance fabric resists stains and is easy to spot clean, which you'll need because spit-up finds every surface. It looks like a normal living room armchair, so it won't scream "nursery furniture" when your kid outgrows the crib and you move it to the family room. Assembly is just attaching the base, about 10 minutes. It's not cheap, but you'll use it for years.
