What We Like

  • No Wi-Fi, no app, no subscription, no hack risk with closed-circuit design
  • 5-inch display with excellent night vision clarity
  • Pan, tilt, and zoom from the parent unit without entering the room
  • Room temperature sensor displayed on the monitor screen
  • Battery lasts through the night on a single charge

What Could Be Better

  • Parent unit is bulky and not the most portable thing to carry around
  • No phone integration if you prefer using an app
  • Range can drop in homes with thick walls or multiple floors

Safety Notes

Mount the camera securely out of baby's reach. Keep all cords at least 3 feet away from the crib. The camera should never be placed inside the crib or within grabbing distance.

Buying Guide Notes

If you want Wi-Fi and phone access, look at the Nanit or Owlet Cam instead, but know you're trading privacy for convenience. If you want a simple, reliable, hack-proof monitor, the eufy SpaceView is the best in its class. The Infant Optics DXR-8 Pro is a solid alternative with interchangeable lenses.

Full Review

After reading one too many stories about hacked Wi-Fi baby monitors, we went with the eufy SpaceView, and we're so glad we did. It's a closed-circuit system, meaning no internet connection, no app, no cloud, no subscription, and absolutely no chance of some stranger accessing your camera. The 5-inch parent monitor has a sharp display with surprisingly good night vision. You can see your baby clearly even in a completely dark room. The wide-angle lens covers the whole crib area, and you can pan, tilt, and zoom remotely from the parent unit. Battery life on the monitor lasts a full night on one charge, and the low-battery alert is loud enough to wake you up. The temperature sensor in the camera is a nice touch for making sure the nursery stays in a comfortable range. Setup was plug-and-play, literally 2 minutes from box to working. Our biggest complaint is that the parent unit is chunky. It's not something you'd carry around the house easily, though you can clip it to your waistband.
