What We Like

  • Gorgeous mid-century design that looks way more expensive than it is
  • GreenGuard Gold certified for low chemical emissions in baby's room
  • Sustainable New Zealand pine construction feels solid and well-made
  • Four mattress height positions for different developmental stages
  • Assembly instructions are actually clear and well-labeled

What Could Be Better

  • Toddler bed conversion rail sold separately, adding to the total cost
  • Heavier than budget cribs, making it hard to move for cleaning
  • The two-tone finish can show scuffs more than a solid color

Safety Notes

Meets all CPSC and ASTM safety standards. GreenGuard Gold certified. Slat spacing meets federal requirements. Always use a firm, snug-fitting crib mattress. No bumpers, pillows, or loose bedding in the crib. Lower mattress before baby can pull to standing.

Buying Guide Notes

If you want the Babyletto look on a budget, the Gelato crib is slightly cheaper. The Graco Solano does the same job for half the price but doesn't look as nice. The Pottery Barn Kendall is similar aesthetically but costs twice as much. If design matters to you and you're willing to pay more than budget but less than luxury, the Hudson is the sweet spot.

Full Review

The Babyletto Hudson is the crib you see in every nursery design blog, and there's a reason it shows up everywhere. It looks genuinely good. The rounded spindles and low-profile design give it a mid-century modern feel that works in both minimalist and cozy nurseries. But looks only matter if the crib also works well, and the Hudson delivers. It's made from sustainable New Zealand pine and MDF, and it's GreenGuard Gold certified, which means it meets strict chemical emission standards. That matters when your baby is sleeping in it for 12+ hours a day. The assembly took us about an hour with two people. The instructions are clear and the hardware is labeled well, which sounds basic but plenty of cribs fail at this. The four adjustable mattress positions let you lower it as your baby starts pulling up. It converts to a toddler bed with a separate rail (sold separately, which is annoying) and also works as a daybed. The white and natural wood two-tone finish is the most popular option and it's easy to see why. It's not the cheapest crib, but it's significantly less than the Pottery Barn cribs it looks like.
