Our Full Review

There's an awkward stage between "newborn in a baby tub" and "toddler who can sit in the big tub alone" where you're basically holding your baby upright with one hand and trying to wash them with the other. It's exhausting. The Summer Infant bath seat solves this by giving your baby a secure place to sit in the regular bathtub. It has strong suction cups on the bottom that grip the tub floor, and a wraparound support that keeps baby upright without being restrictive. Your baby can still reach for toys, splash around, and play while you have both hands free to wash their hair or just take a breath. The seat rotates 360 degrees, which makes it easy to reach all sides without constantly repositioning. The open front lets you lift baby in and out without contorting them. We started using this at about 7 months when our son outgrew the baby tub but couldn't reliably sit in the big tub without tipping over. It was a huge relief. The suction cups hold firmly on smooth tub surfaces. On textured tubs, they don't grip as well, so check your tub finish before buying. This is NOT a hands-free device. You still need to be right there the entire time. But having both hands available instead of one changes the bath experience completely.

What We Like

  • Frees up both hands so you can actually wash your baby properly
  • 360-degree rotation makes it easy to reach all sides without moving the seat
  • Strong suction cups hold firmly on smooth tub surfaces
  • Open front design for easy in-and-out transfers
  • Baby can still splash, play, and reach for toys while seated securely

What Could Be Better

  • Suction cups don't work well on textured tub surfaces (check yours first)
  • Not usable until baby can sit independently, so there's a gap after the baby tub
  • Baby will eventually try to climb out of it, which means it's time to retire it

Safety Notes

This is NOT a safety device. NEVER leave baby unattended in the bath seat, not even for a second. Always keep one hand on baby or within arm's reach. Test suction cups on your tub surface before first use. Stop using when baby can pull themselves up to standing.

Buying Guide Notes

Check your tub surface first. Smooth fiberglass or acrylic tubs work great. Textured or non-slip tub surfaces won't grip the suction cups properly. If you have a textured tub, look at the Angelcare bath support instead. This seat works from about 6 months (sitting independently) through about 15-18 months when they start trying to escape.
