Our Full Review
Every parent knows the 3am pacifier hunt. Baby spits it out, screams, and you're fumbling around the crib in the dark trying to find this tiny piece of silicone. The Soothie Snuggle solves this by attaching the same Soothie pacifier that hospitals use to a small, soft plush animal. The plush gives baby something to hold onto, which means they're more likely to keep the pacifier near their face and (eventually) learn to pop it back in themselves. The pacifier detaches from the plush with a simple loop for cleaning, which is smart because you'll be washing and sterilizing the pacifier part constantly. The plush itself is small enough to be safe in the crib according to the manufacturer, though we always followed our pediatrician's advice on that. Our daughter latched onto her Soothie Snuggle elephant and it became her comfort object alongside the pacifier. Having the familiar plush attached seemed to help her accept the pacifier more readily. We bought three in case one got lost, and sure enough, we rotated through all of them.
What We Like
- Same Soothie pacifier used in hospitals, so babies take to it easily
- Plush attachment makes the pacifier easier for baby to find and hold
- Pacifier detaches for easy cleaning and sterilization
- Multiple cute animal options that can become a comfort object
- Very affordable price for a product you'll use every single day
What Could Be Better
- The plush can get dirty quickly and needs frequent washing
- Only fits the Soothie-style pacifier, so if baby prefers another shape, it won't work
- Some parents worry about the plush in the crib (talk to your pediatrician)
Safety Notes
BPA-free, medical-grade silicone pacifier. The plush meets all CPSC safety standards. Follow your pediatrician's guidance on whether plush items are appropriate in your baby's sleep space. Inspect regularly for wear. Replace if the pacifier shows any signs of damage.
Buying Guide Notes
Buy at least two or three. You'll lose one, one will be in the wash, and you need one on standby. If your baby doesn't take to the Soothie shape, try the WubbaNub, which is a similar concept with a different pacifier style. The Soothie Snuggle is the best option if your baby already likes the round Soothie shape from the hospital.
