A monitor with no wifi at all, which is the entire point. Nothing to hack because nothing's online.

Our Full Review

Wifi baby monitors have an ugly history. Cameras pointed at cots have been accessed by strangers often enough that it stopped being a fringe worry, and every one of those stories starts with a device on the internet. The BM03 doesn't go on the internet. It talks to its own screen over a direct local link, so there's no account, no cloud, no app and nothing exposed. You give up remote viewing from work, and for a lot of parents that's a trade worth making without hesitating. The 5.5 inch screen is generous, which matters more than the spec sheet suggests when you're squinting at it half asleep.

What We Like

  • No wifi means no remote access, no account and no breach to worry about
  • Large 5.5 inch screen you can actually read at night
  • Works during a broadband outage, which wifi monitors don't

What Could Be Better

  • No checking in from the office, by design
  • Range is limited to the local link, so a large house may struggle
  • A dedicated screen is one more thing to charge

Safety Notes

Keep the camera and every cable well out of reach of the cot. Monitor cords are a strangulation hazard and should be at least three feet from any part the baby can reach. A monitor is not a medical device and does not detect or prevent SIDS. Follow safe sleep guidance regardless of what any monitor shows you.

Buying Guide Notes

Choose this over the contact-free BM08 if privacy is your priority and you don't need remote access or breathing detection.
