A pillow spray is a routine cue more than anything else: a child learns that the smell means the day is finishing, and that association is genuinely useful. Our disagreement with the brand is on age. Their copy says babies, children and teenagers. Standard pediatric guidance is to keep essential oils away from infants, whose airways and skin are more reactive, so we map this to 3 and up and would not use it on a baby whatever the label says. For a preschooler, a light spray on bedding well before bedtime is the sensible way to use it. If your child has asthma or eczema, ask your pediatrician before starting.

- A scent cue is an effective routine signal for a preschooler
- One bottle lasts a long time at a spray or two a night
- Nothing to clean up, unlike the bath products
