Our Full Review

MAM bottles have this clever trick that no other bottle brand has figured out. You unscrew the bottom, add water, and microwave the bottle to sterilize it in 3 minutes. No separate sterilizer, no boiling pots of water, no extra gadgets on your counter. For a sleep-deprived parent at midnight who just needs a clean bottle NOW, that's a real win. The anti-colic system uses a vented base instead of an internal tube, so there are fewer parts to lose in the dishwasher. The flat, symmetrical nipple is different from most bottles. Some babies love it immediately, some need a couple tries to get used to the shape. Our son took to it right away but our friend's baby absolutely refused it, so your mileage may vary. The SkinSoft silicone nipple has a texture designed to feel more like skin. At around $8 per bottle, the price is reasonable. We kept three in rotation and the self-sterilizing feature alone made them worth it.

What We Like

  • Self-sterilizing design means no separate sterilizer needed, just microwave the bottle
  • Vented base anti-colic system with fewer parts than internal vent designs
  • SkinSoft silicone nipple feels more natural to baby
  • Great price point for a premium bottle design

What Could Be Better

  • The flat nipple shape doesn't work for every baby, some refuse it entirely
  • Bottom cap can leak slightly if not screwed on tight enough
  • The measurement markings are hard to read in low light

Safety Notes

BPA-free and BPS-free. When self-sterilizing in microwave, follow the exact water amount and time instructions. Let cool completely before handling. Check nipple for wear before each use.

Buying Guide Notes

Buy a starter pack with multiple nipple flow rates to test. The 5oz is good for newborns. If your baby doesn't take the MAM nipple after a few tries, don't force it. Comotomo or Dr. Brown's are good alternatives. The self-sterilizing feature is the main selling point here.
