Our Full Review

If you're a runner who doesn't want to give up training after having a baby, the BOB Wayfinder is what you want. We've run hundreds of miles behind this stroller and it handles like a dream. The suspension system absorbs bumps and roots on trails that would rattle a regular stroller apart. The fixed front wheel (which can also swivel for walking mode) keeps you tracking straight at speed. And the hand brake is genuinely important for downhill sections, because using the parking brake at speed is terrifying and ineffective. The tire inflation is standard Schrader valve, so you can use any bike pump. The wrist strap is a must-use safety feature. The recline is nearly flat for newborns (pair with an infant car seat for the first six months). The storage is decent with a medium underseat basket and a pocket in the canopy. It's not a great everyday stroller because the three-wheel design and larger footprint make it awkward in stores. But for running and trails, nothing we've tested comes close. The fold requires two hands and isn't the most compact, so plan your trunk space accordingly.

What We Like

  • Suspension system absorbs trail bumps so baby stays comfortable at running speed
  • Hand brake gives you control on downhill sections, which is a real safety feature
  • Fixed front wheel option keeps you tracking straight during runs
  • Swivel front wheel mode works for walks when you're not running
  • Wrist strap and parking brake provide multiple layers of safety

What Could Be Better

  • Not great as an everyday stroller due to the wider three-wheel footprint
  • Two-hand fold and larger folded size means it takes up more trunk space
  • Tires need occasional inflation, unlike foam or rubber stroller wheels

Safety Notes

Always use the wrist strap while running. Lock the front wheel in fixed position before jogging. Don't jog with a baby under 6 months unless using a compatible infant car seat. Engage the parking brake whenever stopped. Check tire pressure before runs. The hand brake should be tested before each run on hilly terrain.

Buying Guide Notes

The BOB Wayfinder replaced the beloved BOB Revolution and it's a worthy successor. The Thule Urban Glide 2 is the closest competitor with a slightly more compact fold. If you run trails with roots and gravel, BOB's suspension is better. If you only run on paved paths, the Thule is slightly lighter. Don't try to use a regular stroller for jogging. The wheels aren't designed for it and it's unsafe at speed.
