Our Full Review

Most baby towels you get from registries are thin cotton things that barely absorb anything and leave your baby shivering the second you pull them out of the tub. These bamboo towels are a completely different experience. The bamboo fiber is naturally more absorbent than cotton, so one quick wrap-up and your baby is dry without vigorous rubbing on that sensitive skin. They're also ridiculously soft. Like, you'll want one in your own size. The hood keeps baby's head warm during that post-bath transfer from the bathroom to the changing table, which sounds minor but matters a lot when your baby screams the second they feel cold air. The size is generous enough that you'll use these well into toddlerhood. At 30x30 inches, they don't become too small at 9 months like some baby towels do. We got two and rotated them since they take a bit longer to dry than cotton towels. They're naturally hypoallergenic and antibacterial, which is a nice bonus for eczema-prone babies. After a year of regular use and washing, ours are still soft and absorbent with no signs of wear.

What We Like

  • Bamboo fiber absorbs significantly more water than regular cotton towels
  • Incredibly soft and stays that way wash after wash
  • Generous 30x30 inch size works from newborn through toddler years
  • Hood keeps baby's head warm during the post-bath transfer
  • Naturally hypoallergenic and antibacterial for sensitive skin

What Could Be Better

  • Takes longer to dry than cotton towels, so you need at least two in rotation
  • More expensive than basic cotton hooded towels
  • Bamboo fabric can feel different (slippery) if you're used to cotton terry

Safety Notes

Supervise baby at all times when using towels. Never leave a towel covering baby's face. Machine wash before first use. No flame retardant chemicals. Free from formaldehyde and AZO dyes.

Buying Guide Notes

Get the 2-pack so you always have one while the other is in the wash. If you prefer cotton, Burt's Bees makes a good organic cotton hooded towel at a lower price. aden + anais makes a muslin hooded towel that's lighter weight for warm climates. These bamboo ones are the best overall for absorbency and softness.
