What We Like
- Three stages mean you'll actually use this for over a year, not just a few months
- Converts from bouncer seat to activity table to toddler play table
- Detachable toys are genuinely engaging and not just noise-makers
- Seat pad is machine washable (and you will need to wash it)
- Compact enough to not completely take over your living room
What Could Be Better
- Assembly takes about 30-40 minutes and the instructions aren't great
- Some of the toy attachments pop off too easily once baby gets strong
- Not the cheapest activity center out there for what you get
Safety Notes
Only use Stage 1 bouncer when baby can hold head up unassisted. Don't place on elevated surfaces. Meets ASTM F2012 stationary activity center standards. Maximum weight 25 lbs for the seat stage.
Buying Guide Notes
If you're deciding between this and the Baby Einstein activity center, Skip Hop wins on longevity because of the 3-stage conversion. The Fisher-Price Jumperoo is better if your baby loves bouncing but it doesn't convert to anything else. This is the best all-around pick for smaller spaces.
Full Review
The Skip Hop Activity Center is one of those baby products that actually earns its spot in your living room. Stage 1 is a bouncing discovery seat for babies who can hold their head up (around 4 months). Stage 2 converts to a standing activity table where they can cruise around the outside. Stage 3 removes the legs and becomes a toddler play table they can sit at. We got a solid 14 months of daily use from ours, which is rare for any single baby product. The toys are detachable and surprisingly engaging. The piano keys, spinning owl, and bead chaser kept our daughter busy for 20-30 minute stretches while we made dinner. It's easy to wipe down and the seat pad is machine washable.
